Long time no talk! Welcome back to Love, Amanda Jean. I’ve been working really hard the past couple of weeks on some excellent content I think you will all really love! At least, I know I do. Please help me on this journey and let me know what you love or what I can improve on! Much appreciated!
First, I needed to post some beauty products I haven’t been able to keep off my face in the last little while. Let’s get right into it!
For a little background, I used to not be religious about skincare. I mean, yes, I obviously understood its importance, but I was convinced no face wash worked because I went through a period of hellish acne across my cheekbones which led to scaring, yada yada. I’d heard success stories about GlamGlow all over the internet, but never blinked an eye in that direction because the price point is nearly astronomical for someone with my income. Then, in December, I finally redeemed my Sephora points for a GlamGlow tester kit full of masks and this face wash. Intrigued by the hype, I tried out the tester, and fell IN LOVE. Almost instantly, my face felt like a babies, and after about a week of use, I could tell my scars were fading. Now, I definitely say I’m religious about skincare. This stuff is beautiful. Smells amazing too!
Speaking of expensive Sephora purchases… while at Sephora with my mom last month, we spent a minute speaking to the Hourglass rep who was there for the day. We were interested in the foundation stick, but it didn’t contain SPF. So, she swatched the light-as-a-feather primer on both of our hands and demonstrated its ability to cancel redness. She also told us she uses it as a base instead of foundation on light-coverage days. SOLD. I’ve worn it every single day since, and it does exactly what I need it to. It protects my face from what little rays I get walking Cozy, and it just leaves my skin feeling amazing.
This concealer has been hyped by the beauty blogging community in the last few weeks. I mean, HYPED. Probably half of the YouTubers I watch commented on it in their favorites video, and I know why! On the same Sephora trip with my mom, I swatched this under my eyes, dabbing with my middle finger to melt it into my skin, and instantly, my dark circles were GONE and my face brightened up like my foundation hadn’t been wearing off after hours of shopping. It’s fantastic, beautiful, wonderful. Just what I need after a long night of binge-watching HBO shows.
This eyeshadow. What can I even say about this eyeshadow that will do it justice? I needed this in my collection. There are no colors like this amazing mustardy, browny burned terracotta. I’ve swatched numerous others and haven’t found a dupe yet. My favorite way to wear this color is messily smudged all over the lid and crease. Instantly, it brings out the blue in my eyes and makes me feel put together.
Another browny-nude, this blush has been amazing for warming up my cheeks, but still giving them that perfect pinched look. Initially, I bought a great dupe for it (Makeup Revolution’s Nude), but the pigmentation and powderiness of that product couldn’t compare to the application of Video. I’ve been wearing it nearly every day, and I highly recommend it for any no-makeup makeup looks. (Ooh, was that a hint for a post coming soon?)
